Changing Seasons
When summer finally starts to give up her fight, I feel grateful. The Atlanta summer heat can be too much. So, as the autumn breeze rolls in I’m reminded to be grateful. Gathering partners with several organizations to accomplish our mission. This month we want to recognize a few of them.
Big Green Egg Culinary Center is a big supporter of Gathering. We occasionally teach classes there. We recently catered a lunch for them, and we we are proud that the owner was impressed and enjoyed learning about lunch box preparation.
We hosted a big lunch for Cook’s Warehouse last weekend. It went so well. They had 100 people there and they really loved it. We catered boxed lunches served on trays- Veggie sandwiches and side salads. EVERYBODY went back for seconds!
Peachtree Baptist Church has helped Gathering in different ways over our lifetime. For a season we used the kitchen at the church, and prepared a monthly meal on Wednesday nights. More recently they hired one of our guys from Atlanta Mission to help out with the Wednesday night dinners. They recently hosted an event, Welcome to the Neighborhood, and we were able to donate a dish to the event.
